It features a rubber ball placed at the bottom of the mouse, which, when the mouse is moved, in turn moves two small wheels placed inside the mouse. The wheels allow the mouse to respond to speed and direction. Optical MiceThe optical mouse, on the other hand, does not make use of a ball at its bottom. Instead of a ball, it has a low-power laser light underneath it, which detects changes in texture. The changes are then converted inside the mouse and sent to the computer, which processes the directional and speed movement of the cursor. Rough surfaces are recommended for this type of mouse, as well as a surface with different colors and patterns. The optical mice is also more precise than its ball counterpart. |
