Linking

Links allow Internet users to access a myriad of information across the world network of computers. There can be problems with infringement though.

A derivative website can be created based on pre-existing images contained else where on the on the internet. In internet-speak, it is called Hot-Linking. If a link does this without permission of the original owner, it is infringement.

Links must also avoid defamation, a false statement made about someone or some organization that is damaging to their reputation. Infringement can occur if a link indicates the page is the work of the person sending the link and not the owner of the page.
