LAPTOP SPECIFICATIONS
Hardware
The main pieces of hardware are as follows:
- Processor: it can range anywhere up to around 2Ghz in speed. The
higher the processor speed, the more powerful it is. Its task is to
drive your laptop; therefore, the better the processor, the easier
the laptop will be able to manage programs.
- RAM: this memory functions programs and software, so the more system
memory you have, the more your laptop will be able to handle programs.
- Drives
Removable drives: these drives may come in floppy, DVD, CD, or Zip
that mostly are removable and /or can be fitted externally.
Hard drive: 10 GB is the minimum storage requirement, but the more
is better because you could find yourself going through memory fast.
- Graphics card: is important to consider that the graphics card
you use is compatible with what you want to do. Recommended is at
least 2MB or above.
Software
Take note that the software used is compatible with whatever software
used at home or at work. Modern laptops will be provided with Windows
XP and Office XP.
Adapters and Connectors
Make sure that it is consistent with the network at home especially
if it has a wireless network connector. Examine if laptop has the accessible
ports if you need to connect via an assortment of cables and wire.
