Pixels - short for picture element; sometimes called a pel. One spot in a rectilinear grid of thousands of such spots that are individually “painted” to form an image produced on the screen by a computer or on paper by a printer.

RAM - acronym for random access memory. Semiconductor-based memory that can be read and written by the microprocessor or other hardware devices. The storage locations can be accessed in any order. The term RAM is generally understood to refer to volatile memory, which can be written as well as read.

Stylus - in computer science, also called a pen. A pointing device used with a graphics tablet, usually attached to the tablet by a cord, although there are cordless varieties. To draw or point, the user touches the pen tip to the surface of the tablet.
