Browser
A program which enables users to view websites on the World Wide Web such as Netscape, Internet Explorer and Safari.

Domain Name
The name of your website within the website's address. For instance, www.barney.com is the web address, with barney.com as the domain name.

Flash
Developed by Macromedia, Flash is a technology that allows the viewing of moveable, clickable and changeable animation, film, text or images on a website, needing a "plug-in", easily downloadable from the internet.

HTML
HTML or Hypertext Markup Language is the language used to create documents and allow its viewing through a browser on the World Wide Web. Since it was first introduced, HTML has developed greatly, with many new features best seen on the newer browser versions.

Java
Java is a programming language developed by Sun Microsystems, to write programs which can safely be downloaded from the Internet and run without causing harm to your computer through viruses. Java is perfect for general-purpose programming, applications and creating applets.

JavaScript
JavaScript is not the same as Java, with the difference being that JavaScript was developed to enhance Web pages and servers through a simpler and faster language, while Java is suited as general-purpose language.

Shockwave
Shockwave is a technology that allows web pages to contain multimedia objects such as animation, sound and video, using an authoring tool by Macromedia called ?Director?.

PHP
PHP or Hypertext Pre-processor is a scripting language used to create dynamic Web pages, rooted in HTML. This server-side script is implanted within tags, allowing the webmaster to move between HTML and PHP without having to rely on large amounts of code to output HTML.

XML
Extensible Markup Language (XML) is language for formatting structured data on the internet, enabeling web designers to deliver the data from any application in a standard method.

Firefox
Firefox is a new web browser created by Mozilla. It benefits from having many new features as well as being open source and standards-compliant.
