Wireless Devices
Wireless Router
If
you want to connect two or more PCs to wireless Internet, you will need
to link the PCs together then establish an Internet connection using
a wireless router. The computers connected by the router communicate
through the use of Bluetooth and is therefore faster.
Wireless LAN
Access to another computer’s hard drive within a 45 metre radius
from the main transmission point is made possible by wireless LAN. In
place of a network card, a wireless LAN card enables exchange of data
between the computers within the coverage area. In more advanced technology,
a standard Cat5 computer cable can connect a notebook computer located
anywhere in a building to the main organization file server and the
Internet as well by wiring it to strategic spots within the building.
In these spots are Wireless Transmission/Receiver Hubs which makes it
possible for all notebooks to connect to the file server. If the hubs’
positions are calculated efficiently, they can let users situate themselves
wherever they want and still operate through the corporate network.
